THE BOSQUE LLUVIOSO LOCATION
Only one hour from San José, Costa Rica

A one hour drive east from San José, the capital city of Costa Rica, or approximately fifty-six kilometers on one of the newest and best highways in the country, takes one just outside the Limon Province town of Guapiles to The Bosque Lluvioso Río Costa Rica rainforest preserve.  Here, one enters The Bosque on a suspension bridge over the beautiful Costa Rica River where many of Costa Rica’s 850 species of birds, 205 mammals, 160 amphibians, 218 reptiles, 130 species of river fish, and thousand of plants and trees such as the gigantic Sombrilla de Pobres (poor man’s umbrella) may be found. The drive from San Jose to The Bosque involves a direct route along the Guapiles highway past the Iris Volcano, the Tres Marias, and the Zurqui mountain range and over the Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the largest and most beautiful national rainforest preserves in the Country.
